Retail Trading Group was founded by Jim Cox, a lifelong retail investor, educator, business owner, and manager with more than four decades of personal investing experience.

Since beginning his investing journey in 1983, Jim has experienced both successful investments and costly mistakes. Like many retail investors, he has encountered market hype, subscription services, stock recommendations, and promotional claims that promised more than they delivered.

These experiences helped shape the vision for Retail Trading Group.

RTG was created to encourage informed decision-making through education, research, and risk awareness. Rather than promoting specific investments or trading systems, the organization focuses on helping retail investors better understand markets, evaluate information critically, and recognize the risks associated with speculative trading activities.

Jim's career has included leadership, education, business ownership, and team development.
